Diffusion Example

-If you had a bottle of water...

and you had food coloring- (the food coloring drops are in a very concentrated area.)

Then... you put the food coloring into the bottled water- ( this is showing the molecules in a highly concentrated area going to a place that is less concentrated.) pretty soon the food coloring will settle and this wil be what the water will look like.

Why does this happen?

- The food coloring used to not be able to move since it was so highly concentrated.

- when I put the food coloring into the bottled water, it was less concentrated so it was able to spread out.

- after a while it spread out enough that the water turned green!!!!!

( no bottles of water harmed in the making of this experiment.)
